Dubois Cup hailed a stunning successThe Dubois Cup regatta was held in Palma from the 13th-16th June. Hosted by the Real Club Nautico de Palma and based at the Marina Port de Mallorca, the Dubois Cup was voted, by all who attended, to be a wonderful success both afloat and ashore. With seven large sailing yachts and three motor yachts – all designed by Dubois Naval Architects – the regatta fleet represented a wonderful example of recent Dubois designs and also an amazing tribute to the builders of these complicated and highly sophisticated craft. Dubois was aided in mounting the event by the yacht builders Alloy Yachts, Vitters Shipyard, Fitzroy Yachts and Pendennis Shipyard. Support was also gratefully received from Redman Whiteley Dixon, Southern Spars and NZ Yachting Developments. Four races were held in varying conditions and the organisation, from John Grandy and his assistant Emma Bourne was impeccable. IRC ratings were provided by the Royal Ocean Racing Club and administered by Peter Wykeham-Martin. MORE »The racing was close and the results in the main very fair. |
